The University of Georgia is seeking candidates for the position of Head of the Arrangement and Description Unit for the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies. This position is responsible to the Director of the Russell Library for a growing collection of over 18,000 linear feet of manuscript and archival material and makes a significant contribution to meeting Russell Library’s goals and standards. The Head of Arrangement and Description’s duties are divided as follows: 50% collection management, 15% Georgia Disability History Alliance collaboration and collection curation,15% donor relations, acquiring collections, and records management with organizations, 10% supervising Arrangement and Description Unit staff, 5% collaborating with Russell’s Oral History and Media Unit and Access and Outreach Unit, as well as other Libraries’ departments, and 5% participating on committees and in Russell planning, decision-making, and implementation of departmental goals and standards. Additionally, this position participates in reading room and reference service to patrons and works closely with the Head of the Access and Outreach Unit and the Head of the Oral History and Media Unit on special and ongoing projects. This position is a member of the University of Georgia Libraries’ non-tenure track faculty.
