Film Archivist – PHI Collection
The PHI Collection Film Archivist works in the Archive Collections Department under the supervision of the Collections Curator and the Film Traffic Manager. Primary duties include inspection, inventory and cataloging of the Packard Humanities Institute Collection, consisting primarily of theatrical trailers, snipes and advertisements. This is a full-time position with benefits; the term of the position will be for a minimum of one year with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities Role PurposeAs an Archive Research Coordinator you will be responsible for researching and cataloging titles in preparation for the QC process. This research includes identification of titles, metadata about assets, and issue resolution per the QC results. Coordinators should have a strong understanding and knowledge of Excel. They must also be able to understand, and execute various procedures involving title research in a Digital Asset Management system, comprehensive tracking of a multitude of assets, and issue resolution such as metadata accuracy, quality, duplicity, and other discrepancies. The Coordinator will have entertainment archive or asset experience and passion for working with data, customer service and order driven deadlines. The Coordinator needs to be able to effectively communicate issues to management and the QC team, and must be adaptable, as our project priorities often change at a moment’s notice. Knowledge of digital file formats (video, audio, captions, subtitles, etc.) and strong knowledge of Film & Television are all a plus.
