The MediaPreserve, a division of Preservation Technologies L.P., provides high-quality reformatting services for archival audiovisual materials of all types and formats. Using expertly-modified legacy equipment as well as current technologies, our staff of engineers, librarians, archivists and preservation specialists work with each client to customize a preservation program based on an institution’s needs and infrastructure. Our staff is committed to ensuring all materials are transferred and documented according to professional standards and best practices throughout the process so that our client receives the best quality deliverables for preservation, editing and access purposes.

Requirements:

  • Effective leadership and management skills
  • Experience with a variety of analog / digital tape machines and formats.
  • Knowledge of Quad, EIAJ and Umatic tape and playback machines.
  • Proficient with Final Cut Pro 7, Blackmagic, Digital Rapids SelenioFlex.
  • Previous experience in a video production environment
  • Must have excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to change and adapt quickly in a high-energy and fast paced environment.
  • A high level of attention to detail with a good eye for quality work.
  • Minimum 5 years working in a video production environment

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Production Manager the day to day operations of the video department
  • Ensure all projects are on schedule
  • Follow and create guidelines to maintain best quality product
  • Identify best practices for video and evolve daily operations as necessary
  • Manage, mentor and grow the video team to ensure consistent and measurable individual and departmental growth
  • This is a working supervisory position that will be required to oversee the department as well as complete daily quotas.
